I started my career in education as a preschool teacher while in college pursuing teaching certification. I also worked as a Mad Scientist, training instructors and performing science edutainment programs for groups from 6 – 500+. After I became a certified teacher, I taught gifted students and then moved into the classroom to work with 3rd and 4th graders. I was also highly involved in developing summer enrichment programs, actively bringing new technology into the classroom, and investigating new approaches to learning. I left classroom teaching and embarked on a number of different experiences that included training instructors and developing educational programs for a science company, coaching landscape design clients in different horticultural techniques, and providing a workshop to college students on landscape design software.
Eventually I moved into corporate learning and development and have worked in multiple industries. Currently I work for WinnCompanies developing company-wide training programs for leadership development and on-boarding, consulting with other divisions on their initiatives, performance issues, and organizational design, facilitate leadership and systems training courses, and oversee the management of the Learning Management System (LMS).
My passion for helping others learn and improve performance, includes a passion for learning itself. I studied psychology as an undergraduate while becoming a certified elementary school teacher. I also have a master’s degree in educational technology and a graduate certificate in Workplace eLearning and Performance Support (WELPS). Additionally, I am certified as a Project Adventure facilitator and as a Performance Consultant.
